We are hiking and taking ziplines on a course around volcanoes and waterfalls. Arenal Volcano Park is developed, with hiking trails and zip lines crisscrossing up and down the mountain.
It’s really breezy at the top as we wait in line on a deck for everyone to summit. And there is a long line to ride ziplines back down, requiring several trips to the restroom.
But the adrenalin rush and visual treat are well worth it. Parrots perch on your shoulder and cheer as you feed them marañón. You can try to interact with them using the AI guide/ translator, but they mostly like to ride down yelling, ‘faster, faster’. Faster and faster we went, zipping through the forest, akaw!
The lava rock formations with waterfalls, an actual volcanic eruption, the green crater lake, and the view of Arenal Lake on the way down -it was firing!
