My (future) blog.

This is a first for me, both in writing and blogging.

This internet that we share can be a conduit of bad things, and can be controlled or used in an authoritarian way. On this blog, though, I am writing freely. Whether or not anything of this futuristic blog comes true, I will always search for the truth.

The idea for Wildlands came to me in college decades ago. It was a reaction to something about the way each successive generation views their new world. I asked: Do people in England, when they think of their land, view the area of land that is now treeless as normal? Or is the land from back in the days when there were lions viewed as the normal?

I was concerned back then- and still am now – that politicians react only to the current situation and the whole world loses natural places and animals.

Speaking in English about wild places, we use the term ‘develop the land’ when speaking from our perspective, and ‘habitat loss’ when taking the wildlife’s perspective.

But I am not writing about the days of lions in England or about these days. I am writing about the not too distant future. I will try to dream up a future that is wild and free, and hopefully somewhat entertaining. I look forward to your comments!
