Our world has changed a lot. These days we aren’t causing a carbon imbalance. No one can deny that. While there is still tons of carbon in the atmosphere, with nowhere for the excess heat to go, we still have the wildlands. And with our knowledge about desertification, the wildlands are still growing. Furthermore, natural variations would still have us in a cooling trend.
Our group is pretty humble, and we search for the truth – no need for rationalization. We justify ourselves by being ‘gooder’.
In the next leg of our journey, through the badlands, we will push ourselves physically. We will following the Yellowstone River on another self-repairing path that used to be a highway. Our destination, Yellowstone, is at 2,500m. Theodore Roosevelt Park is at 760m. So we will be climbing 1,740m while cycling 725km.
Some of us have vowed not to use electronic assistance. And, along a self-repairing path, it will be another high-speed tour.
No one in our group has died in the wildlands. Good work awaits Aka and Asii. These are hopeful times.
We follow the slightly elevated path, the human footprint. Packs of wolves do not atack us like other mammals. We have fire, a dog, and a night watch schedule. We have refrigeration to keep our food fresh, unlike the wolves. In contrast to some babies in the wild that are eaten when there limited resources, people are blessed to understand these things.
The peace and love between a parent and child, not the number of children, is a blessing. Members of our group have followed population control with the intention of not having more than two offspring. In that way, we are less free. But we are blessed to take good care of our children.

This Ted Talk, by Dolly Chugh, is the origin of my ‘be goober’ phrase.
