TED Talks has an initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis. So, this week I am rating the videos according to how moving they are to me. The scale is from 1 – not very moving, to 10 – very moving.
Prince William | This decade calls for Earthshots to repair our planet
Both William and Harry have a speaking tone that says ‘bring it on’ and ‘we’ve got this’. It is a good tone for the most consequential decade in our history. (8/10)
His Holiness Pope Francis | Our moral imperative to act on climate change [Italian]
I am used to hearing Italian being spoken in an exaggerated way, like in a movie about the mafia. Here the Pope speaks Italian in a quiet, reserved, yet compassionate tone. He is speaking in the Chistian humanist way that I love. (10/10)
“What a Wonderful World” | Cynthia Erivo and Gary Motley
Sweet, sweet syrup for the soul. (9/10)
How cities are detoxing transportation | Monica Araya
Amsterdam has done a great job transforming the city for bicycles. I looks magically different from the city where I am living now. Monica Araya give a good talk with lots of info. (8/ 10)
