I got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine today. We passed through some makeshift tents with the logistics working well. After getting our shots, we were waiting for 30 minutes in a gymnasium, being monitored.
I had a feeling of common destiny. I had done my part – wearing a mask, learning about the virus on the internet, and now getting vaccinated. By doing this together, we could approach herd immunity.
I want to bottle this feeling of people coming together for a common goal. We need the courage to address whatever may come from that which we have brought on.
