It is an early Christmas season with vibrant green and red birds. We gathered presents for a luau (We will be prepared this time with bags of wild cashews and mangoes).
Hiking down the mountain on our way to Hermosa Beach, we are in a merry mood.
On a scheduled day of rest at the beach, the surf is going off. As we rest, we are treated to a performance by Tulsi and Z.
We can see these two for who they really are. Z barrells into a bomb with immense volume. After a lull, Tulsi appears, carving on the face of a clean wave. She did an aerial before it broke. It was an epic session.
After another lull, we spot dolphins going over a lip and into the falls. Picking up speed, the dolphins burst through crests of waves to get air.
As we were getting totally stoked, the sirens sounded warning of sharks. All the people hurried out of the water. Had the dolphins escaped with their lives? Our hearts were in our throats.
Life, in its brevity, at times heroic, at times tragic, comes with death. That is how it must be. And we have to let it go.
