I chose this video because the subject is simple and natural life.
As I watched this I was reminded about predictions of a future. We will have AI and robotics doing the work. The concern about the future is of the workers. What will they do in their lives? As I remember, the answer was that workers would be moved more into the customer service sector. For example, they could learn how to give massages.
This type of top-down attitude is not from the future. It exists today, as the workers’ lives and work are more strictly regulated. It is what Kalle Flodin has described as leaving.
In this video, he describes independence, as both harder and more rewarding. I am sure his body is giving him dopamine rewards. That is how we work. And, being in the wild allows us to discover ourselves, as we experience nature.
The common understanding of ‘wild’, I think, is like a Baer Grylls, Man Vs. Wild, image.
In my (future) blog I tried to write about allowing wild areas back into our world. For example, I wrote about tunneling underground for hyperloop transportation; restricting construction or renovation; restricting our numbers; taking down barriers like fences; and using AI to tweak the entire process.
In this video, though, it looks more like country living, not wilderness. However, this human perspective from the wild is a valuable one, full of activity, discovery and rewards.
