Maxine: We have hired a domesticated yak to help carry our stuff. These yaks are invaluable to people in these parts. Their wool is on our backs now as we travel among the giants (hovids and peaks).
Slate: I hope it goes better with this yak than it did with the horse that we hired a few months ago.
Eugene Douglass: Yaks are not so big that they can easily carry us like elephants. But, boy, are they hardy. And this is one of the most extreme environments. All hail the hardy and beautiful yak!
Maxine: As they give us these benefits, we give them antiviral mitigation. Our relationship is symbiotic.
Ann: There are some dangerous inclines, so we are following a path that goes partly on land and partly over the frozen stream. Our smart glacier goggles are great for showing the way, and shielding our eyes against the glacier glare.
Slate: I’ve been using my goggles during the breaks to take in the classics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm_cFzVAoo8
Eugene Douglass: We are hiking Baltoro Glacier among giant kings, the highest peaks in the world.
