Fish Owl

A Blakinston’s fish owl in flight, by Juie Edgley

The Spirit of the Valley never dies.
It is called the Mystic Female.
The Door of the Mystic Female
Is the root of Heaven and Earth.

Continuously, continuously,
It seems to remain.
Draw upon it.

Sometimes nature, left alone, will remain forever. This valley, with no administration, is impeccable. It is the habitat for fish owls like the one we saw today. The habitat was left untouched long enough.
Following our guide at a respectable 500-meter distance, we watched the non-action, maintaining a similar pose to our guide and the fish owl.
Its crusty appearance, with baggy trousers, belies a calm ferocity. It stands upright and waits for hours on the banks of the stream…
until … in an instant a fish appears. The fish owl’s monstrous talons take hold of the fish, and it glides away in silence.
