The wind picked up in the prairie, signaling a tornado warning. We are out here at a standstill, hunkered down in a tipi. Tipis can withstand all but the strongest winds.
Despite the winds, we are having a jolly time inside. And we now have more respect for the rugged, windproof bison. The bison bikes that we are riding do not give their namesake enough credit.
The mighty bison roam across the great plains and are pursued at night by wolves while enduring extreme weather.
