Per the latest IPCC Report, the situation with the climate is getting clearer and clearer. We need action on the climate yesterday.

In these desperate times I have taken a break from blogging… YES, a break from this blog. Let me explain in a short story.

I have an invention that I have been looking for, searching for many years. It started when I was in a physics class at Pitt. The subject was thermal dynamics. The professor took time out from our lessons to explain that life on Earth exists only within a finite temperature zone. That is why global warming is a serious problem for us. And like in the movie Inception, a classmate who saw me on the street was saying, “Maybe we shouldn’t be moving around in these big metal boxes. “

The next semester, while studying electro-magnetic energy, I made a drawing of a bicycle with a magnet on it. It seems I was not following protocol as I knocked on the professor (not teacher assistant)’s door, as he was not pleased with our meeting. And he told me that people can have many ideas, but the important thing is what works in reality. There are things like the weight – a magnet is heavy. And there are efficiencies of drive systems – electrical drive systems are not as efficient as bicycle drive systems.

But what that professor did not know is that he had given a young man with endless ideas a direction in life. (Actually I became a teacher of English to students of other languages to pay the bills) And so my ‘bicycle project’ and search for more torque began. It is somewhat of a search for the truth, a general following of the scientific method.

Well, the prototype is being built. This is mostly the reason for this blog. A person who is deprived of the work he wants to do can become depressed. But this blog has been the antidote.
