Nikolayevsk-on-Amur

We stumbled out of the hyperloop tubes and into a large coastal city, Nikolayevsk-on-Amur.
At the fisherman’s wharf, barrel-chested men were selling tunas in a festive way. The action attracted many tourists like ourselves. And in the midst of the festivities, a one-man-band upped the tempo.
We sat down to a feast: 40 different plates of seafood, set up for us on a picnic bench. We enjoyed the meal all afternoon in the sunshine.
Down by the boardwalk were boats for hire. Made from leftover plastic that once littered the oceans, a fleet of Hōkūleʻa vessels sat in the sand. These plastic vessels have an impermeable coating, of course.
We have decided on a voyage north. Feeling ready to set sail, we waited a long time for the legal forms and the direction of the marina.
There was little time to make inquiries into finding sea eagles. The topic was not a popular one, either.
Set the Hōkūleʻa sails. We are heading out to sea in grand style.

Hōkūleʻa (see Hōkūleʻa in Wikipedia) Dennis Kawaharada is the photographer.
