Surfer Gerry Lopez

I named mywildlands surfer ‘Z’. I named him after the animation character, Big Z, voiced by Jeff Bridges. 

My Z is influenced by Daoism. For example, I wrote Surfer’s Creed  from a paragraph in the Dao De Jing. 

I read the Dao De Jing during my couple of years in China. It resonated with me. (chapter 42) The myriad things contain Yin and Yang as vital forces, Which achieve harmony through their interaction.

Anywho, Patagonia has a new video, the Yin & Yang of Gerry Lopez.

This surfing legend was into yoga which comes from India. But, there seems to be a lot of congruities between the philosophies of these two schools of thought. For example, my brother does yoga. And I told him tai chi, which comes from Daoism, is like standing yoga. Also, before I do my chi gong (from Daoism) I do Budhist meditation and breathing exercises.
How does Gerry Lopez resemble my Z or the animated Big Z. It will be interesting to watch.
