Every other morning at Askole, Amir melts ice and pours it into a rubber roller bar. This rolling bar is a heavy part of a contraption that Amir uses in his job of smoothing over the road to Askole.
Riding an abominable tricycle down beside Bralding River, pulling the contraption, Amire smoothes over channels in the snow that were created by the many wide tires of explorers’ tricycles. According to Amir this is a very demanding job. It requires proper maintenance with a shovel on the way up.
With Eugene Douglas getting his legs back, we are riding abominable tricycles to Askole. In these wintery conditions, in the granny gear, going up a glistening path our spirits are bright.
We greatly appreciated Amir’s maintenance of this gentle path resembling a ski trail.
