Our car came to a stop in the city of Los Angeles. It was pleasantly sunny (as it is always said to be). We were only a kilometer from the beach, so we rented a centipede, our ride of choice. We arrived at a long boardwalk and cycled back and forth, looking for the best spot to camp. The beach was a bit crowded. Finally, we found a nice area with some shade and set up camp. It was gorgeous.
A crowd of people were carrying boards down to the surf. And, it became apparent we would have to wait a day to get in line. Still, we got a taste of the water, letting it soothe us back and forth. We did body surfing, but the perfect crests were down the beach.
We have been here for nearly a week without much surfing. Even with a population of around 2 billion, some cities are crowded. LA is one of those cities. With the free energy to transform seawater into drinking water, LA lives up to its heavenly name. To expect anything besides lots of crowds at Huntington Beach is to expect too much.
