A Grey Steed

In Puerto Blest, we have completed the paddling stage of the lake district expedition. This scenery is worthy of the word ‘awesome’.
Next, we went to a cowboy ranch and have hired a packhorse. After observing wild horses in the prairie, we now have one with us.
It is not a bad relationship we have with our horse. There are no fences in the wildlands to keep her. She isn’t being kept. Wild horses are hunted by pumas. And, we have had such a good relationship with our dog.
Really we got a horse because the nights never truly get warm here in the mountains. And we need all the warmth and comfort that we can carry.
This horse is well-traveled in these parts. She is a gentle and noble steed. If nothing else, we will treat her with our utmost respect.
Our plan is to hike around Mount Tronador, camping at Refugio Otto Meiling.
