Before I comment, I want to note that the video is about the carrying capacity of the earth to support global human population. I didn’t hear anything about bio diversity or extinction.

In her video her view is between the pessimists – the doomsters, and the optimists – the boomsters. The doomsters want the population to go down to 2 billion worldwide. This means I am in the doomsters camp.

Sabine sites a study, https://www.thelancet.com/article/S0140-6736(20)30677-2/fulltext in which there is a scenario, involving The United Nations, birth control and education. This scenario has the global population peaking earlier- 2046, and decreasing to under 7 billion by 2100.

Sabine concludes that both the pessimists, like myself, and the optimists, like Elon Musk are wrong. The pessimists are wrong. She says,”Population will peak soon, below carrying capacity. “
