The US Supreme Court

I am disappointed by the US Supreme Court decision that limits the EPA’s power to set standards for carbon emissions from power plants. https://youtu.be/ICeyZAqOPas

The EPA was established in 1970 by an executive order that was ratified by congress. The EPA was created out of concern about the impact that human activity could have on the environment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Environmental_Protection_Agency

We are all at risk due to the emissions from burning fuel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_pollution

There are also vast repercussions from burning fossil fuels. Mostly these affect poor people, like the 53 migrants who died in the back of an overheated semi-truck. https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/29/us/san-antonio-migrant-truck-deaths-charges-filed/index.html Or, the homeless who are perishing in the heat waves.

This is not an issue of government overreach. If I decided to stop using my car and walk everywhere; If I turned off the electricity in our house; If I ate only food that I found in garbage bins outside of restaurants downtown, and I drank only from the polluted Gwangju river; would that make an impact? I am only one of about 8 billion people. We need the government’s EPA to do this work.
